A social media content creator is responsible for developing and implementing creative content strategies across various social media platforms to increase engagement, grow followers, and build brand awareness. The job duties include:
1. Developing and executing a content calendar, including creating posts, videos, graphics, and other forms of media for social media platforms.
2. Monitoring and analysing social media metrics to gauge the success of content and adjust strategies as needed.
3. Interacting with the social media community by responding to comments, messages, and direct inquiries.
4. Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to align social media content with overall brand objectives and messaging.
5. Keeping up-to-date with the latest trends, algorithms, and best practices in social media.
6. Staying informed on current events, pop culture, and relevant topics to incorporate into content.
7. Ensuring all content is aligned with company guidelines and adheres to platform policies.
8. The ideal candidate should have experience with social media management, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong creativity, and a deep understanding of the target audience and platform. Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok is essential. Knowledge of graphic design, video production, and photography is a plus.
9. Constantly research on competitors and global market leaders, brainstorm new and creative content growth strategies, identify trends and insights, and optimize content and performance based on insights.
1. Strong creative and storytelling skills
2. Experience with video production and editing software such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere
3. Knowledge of trends, algorithms, and best practices for TikTok, Instagram and Facebook
4. Ability to create entertaining and engaging short-form videos in a variety of styles
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with the online community
6. Strong sense of humour and ability to create humour-based content is a plus
7. Ability to analyse and measure video performance and use insights to improve future content
8. Awareness of current events, pop culture, and relevant topics to incorporate into videos
9. Flexibility to work independently and as part of a team
10. Bilingual in English and Chinese is vital for some Chinese content
11. A passion for creating and sharing content on social media platforms, especially TikTok and Instagram
A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field such as media studies, marketing, or communication may be preferred but is not always required. Having an active and successful TikTok and/or Instagram account with a large following is also a plus.
